Man accused in dragging puppy case pleads guilty

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The manaccused of dragging a 5-month-old pit-bull puppy to the point where the dog hadto be put down, pleaded guilty in court Monday.

According to the Craighead County Prosecutor's Office,21-year-old Cameron Wright pleaded guilty to aggravated animal cruelty and wassentenced to 4 months in jail. Wright also received three years probation and orderedto classes on how to properly treat animals, and fined almost $900.

According to JonesboroPolice, on July 8, 2011, Wright dragged the 5-month-old pit-bull puppy behindhis truck and then left to die. Police were able to find the puppy, but had toeuthanize it because its injuries were too severe.

Police say an anonymous tipled to a vehicle description, tag number and description of Wright driving thecar.
