JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The man accused of dragging a 5-month-old pit-bull puppy to the point where the dog had to be put down, pleaded guilty in court Monday.

According to the Craighead County Prosecutor's Office, 21-year-old Cameron Wright pleaded guilty to aggravated animal cruelty and was sentenced to 4 months in jail. Wright also received three years probation and ordered to classes on how to properly treat animals, and fined almost $900.

According to Jonesboro Police, on July 8, 2011, Wright dragged the 5-month-old pit-bull puppy behind his truck and then left to die. Police were able to find the puppy, but had to euthanize it because its injuries were too severe.

Police say an anonymous tip led to a vehicle description, tag number and description of Wright driving the car.
