Berry's Office Posting List of Residents On Web Who Haven't Received Child Tax Credits Due To Wrong Addresses

October 31, 2003 - Posted at 3:19 p.m. CDT

WASHINGTON, DC - First District Congressman Marion Berry today posted a list of families in Arkansas' First Congressional District that have not yet received Child Tax Credits due them on his website, www.house.gov/berry/childtaxcreditlist.html.

The Internal Revenue Service was not able to mail the checks to these families because the addresses the IRS had on file were incorrect, not updated or otherwise unusable.  Those families on the list call call Congressman Berry's office at 800-866-2701 and his constituent services team will work to fix the address issues with the IRS so checks are received as quickly as possible.

There were more than 115,000 taxpayers whose advance child tax credit check was returned as undeliverable this summer.  Recipients have until December 5 to claim this payment.  After the December cut-off, you will have to wait until you claim the credit on your 2003 tax return to receive the money.

If your name is on the list on Berry's website, the constituent services team will need certain information from your 2002 tax return in order to help get your check.:

-Your Social Security number.

-Your filing status (such as single or married filing jointly).

-The refund amount you claimed.

-The number of exemptions you claimed.
