BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT)-  A man with a history of domestic violence is behind bars after his girlfriend told Blytheville Police that he beat and raped her.

According to police, Jeanetta Jones told officers that on June 29th she was beaten and forced at knife point to have sex with her live in boyfriend Terrance Dawson.  Police say Jones showed signs of injury and warrants were issued for Dawson.

After several attempts to locate Dawson, officers say they received an anonymous tip that he was at 218 Lilly Street.  Officers say they found Dawson at the residence, where according to police, he lied to officers about who he was and attempted to push through officers as he was being placed under arrest.

During an interview with Dawson at the Blytheville Police Department, police say he told authorities that he did get into a physical altercation with Jones on that night but did not rape her.  On Thursday, Dawson was arraigned and bond was set at $125,000.

Dawson was previously convicted of domestic battery four times from 2007 to 2008, according to Blytheville Police.
