Tulsa Shock waive former UALR Trojan Chastity Reed

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The Tulsa Shock has signed former WNBA finals MVP Betty Lennox.

The Shock announced the signing on Friday, with the hope that Lennox will help the young team with her leadership.

To make room on the roster, the Shock waived Chastity Reed, who was a third-round draft pick out of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

In 2004, Lennox led the Seattle Storm to the WNBA championship. During the post-season, Lennox averaged 14.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game. She was named finals MVP.

Reed averaged 3.5 points in 13.2 minutes a game this season.

Lennox played in 11 games for the Sparks last season before being knocked out by a knee injury. She was in training camp with the Shock this season.
