JONESBORO, AR (ASU) — The Sun Belt Conference announced Monday that the Arkansas State-Western Kentucky football game scheduled for Oct. 1 will be televised by the Sun Belt Network. Kickoff time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green, Ky.
The league made the announcement Monday as the league's annual Football Media Days got underway utilizing video teleconference and webstreaming services. The Sun Belt Network also has the option to televise as many as three other ASU footballgames during the 2011 season. The Nov. 12 ASU-Louisiana Lafayette game, the Nov. 19 ASU-Middle Tennessee matchup and the Dec. 3 ASU-Troy regular-season finale are all listed as options for thenetwork to broadcast.
With the addition of the ASU-WKU game, the Red Wolves will nowhave a minimum of five games televised during the upcoming season.
The Red Wolves set a school record with 10 televised games during the 2010 season, and have four other contests set for broadcast during the 2011 campaign in addition to the Western Kentucky clash. The Sept. 3 season-opener at Illinois will be broadcast by the Big 10 Network, the Sept. 17 contest at Virginia Tech will air on Fox Sports, the Sept. 24 game against UCA will be broadcast by KATV, KAIT and KNWA and the Oct. 18 game against Florida International will be broadcast nationally from ASU Stadium on ESPN2.
