JONESBORO, AR (AP) - Police in Jonesboro says an Army recruiter is charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly tried to strangle his girlfriend.

Police say 36-year-old Quincy Demorse Cabiness of Jonesboro was arrested near his home early Sunday.

A judge found probable cause Monday to charge Cabiness with the felony. Bond was set at $10,000.

Police say Cabiness grabbed the woman by the throat and threatened to throw her off an apartment balcony.

The Craighead County Jail said Tuesday that Cabiness had been released. There was no indication whether he had an attorney.
