22-month-old dies from drowning incident in Kennett

KENNETT, MO (KFVS) - A 22-month-old Kennett toddler has died as a result of a pool drowning Friday evening.

According to Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder it happened Friday night around 7:30.

Twenty-two-month-old King James Tribble of Kennett had been out playing with 3 other children.

Holder says the children were asked to come inside for dinner, and at that time the adults realized the toddler was missing.

A search began and the child's father found the boy in the above-ground pool and he and his wife took the toddler to the hospital, while she administered CPR all the way there, Holder said.

The child was then flown to a Memphis hospital where he later died around 4 a.m. this morning.
