Five Region 8 Teachers Honored as Among the State's Best

ARKADELPHIA, AR - A Searcy High School teacher has been honored by the state Education Department as one of four finalists in the running for Arkansas' Teacher of the Year award.  Connye Holden teaches English at Searcy.

Meanwhile, four other Region 8 teachers were among 16 instructors named as Regional Teachers of The Year.  They include;

-Denise Doyle, a sixth-grade teacher at Harrisburg Middle School.

-Sheila Johnson of West Memphis, a fourth-grade teacher at Faulk Elementary School.

-Paula Osborne, a second-grade teacher at Newark Elementary School.

-Norma Williams, an English teacher at Marmaduke High School.
