JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – July was a lucrative month for Craighead County.
According to "Arkansas Business," the county reported record revenues from its one percent sales tax.
The tax generated $1.3 million. That's more than any other July.
So far this year the county has collected $9.3 million in revenues.
County treasurer Russell Patton III is quoted as saying the opening of several new restaurants, including Red Lobster and Longhorn Steakhouse, have attracted shoppers from surrounding counties.
