August is deadliest month on the road says NHTSA

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KAIT) - According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, August is the deadliest month on the road.

The agency says the odds of getting into a deadly crash are higher in August because more people are on the roads.

September is listed as the second deadliest month and March is listed as the safest.

As for days of the week, Saturdays have the most fatalities. Tuesdays have the least.
