Forrest City Man Pleads Guilty to Four Murders

November 11, 2003 - Posted at 4:48 p.m. CDT

FORREST CITY, AR - A man who pleaded guilty to involvement in a triple slaying and a fourth murder days later is sentenced to spend 40 years in prison.

Jimmy Mills, 32, was one of three people to plead guilty in the triple murder.

Mills, who was originally charged with capital murder, pleaded guilty Monday to the lesser charge of first-degree murder in the December 2001 deaths of Dylan A. Boyd and Carl Boyd, both of Madison, and DeWayne Stewart, of Forrest City.  The one murder charge accounted for three deaths.

Also, Mills pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting death of Voltaurus Parchman 21 days after the triple-slaying.

For each of the two murder convictions, Mills was sentenced to 40 years in prison.  However, the sentences are to run concurrently.

Mills' co-defendants in the triple slaying, 37-year-old Steven Neal and 32-year-old Kevin Mosby, negotiated guilty pleas to lesser charges last November.
