Region 8 man arrested in prostitution bust

ROGERS, AR (KAIT) – A Wynne man was arrested in the midst of a prostitution investigation out of Rogers.

According to the Rogers Police Department, 45-year-old David Dowd of Wynne and 13 others were arrested after police utilized a classified ads website that included an advertising section for escorts.

Rogers Police said investigators gathered evidence over several weeks to conclude that the people placing ads in the escorts section were actually involved in prostitution and were listing their services available in Rogers.

Officers said the investigation targeted both females working as prostitutes and males offering to pay for services; they also said during the investigation, suspects agreed to meet either over the telephone or in person at site in town. The suspects were arrested once investigators established probable cause.

According to police, at least eight women were arrested and charges with prostitution, five men were charged with patronizing a prostitute, and one additional arrest was made for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

All arrestees were held until all arrests were made. All have received citation to appear in the Rogers District Court.
