CALICO ROCK, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 woman was charged with two counts of fraud after she tried to get a false prescription for oxycodone filled twice. Each count classifies as a class C Felony.
Police said Wendy N. Crawford, 28, attempted to give a forged prescription of oxycodone to a Calico Rock pharmacy, however, the on-duty pharmacist was suspicious of the prescription and refused to fill it.
The next time, Crawford went to the same pharmacy and presented the same prescription, but to another pharmacist. In this instance, the prescription was filled with a generic brand of oxycodone.
Crawford was arrested on August 4 and posted a $10,000 bond the following day.
Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the charges and arrest were the result of an investigation by the Izard County Sheriff's Department and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
