Only 10 permits will be issued to youth 15 years of age and under as of Dec. 3, 2011. A mandatory hunter orientation will be held on Nov. 26.
The once-in-a-lifetime hunt will only be available to hunters who have not been selected for the hunt in the past. Each selected participant will be required to have an unarmed chaperone 21 years of age or older. If the youth does not have a chaperone, one will be provided.
All participants will be required to have completed a hunter education course prior to the hunt. Tree-stands will be provided and installed by Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and refuge staff. Applications must be postmarked by Oct. 15.
