Domestic dispute leaves man in hospital, woman in jail

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO  (KAIT) – Caruthersville Officers say a domestic dispute has left one woman in jail and one man in a local hospital.

Police say they received a call at 10:47 a.m. on Aug 14 about a domestic dispute. Initially, police were convinced that no physical fight had actually broken out at the home on 106 E 13th Street after speaking with the couple in question. However, after they watched the woman leave, police say they circled the block only to find the woman back in the yard arguing with the man.

As they got out of the car, police say the saw the man start chasing the woman around with a large board.

Police say that as they approached the couple, they saw the man bleeding from a large cut on his neck where the woman had cut him with a razor blade.

The man was taken to the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital while the woman was taken to the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office where she was being held pending the filing of formal charges.

Names have not been released.
