ASU helps students in "Bridging the Gap" to college

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- A week long program at Arkansas State University is helping students become better acquainted with the college atmosphere.

"Bridging the Gap" Summer Bridge Program is led by the Student Support Services at ASU-Jonesboro.  The program that started Monday is designed to help incoming or nontraditional students by introducing them to resources that will lead to a successful college career.  Also the program offers academic instruction, team building activities and SSS officials say there will be a cultural enrichment trip.

"Bridging the Gap" is a free program and once a person is in the program they will remain a part of it until graduation.  There are certain requirements that have to be met to participate.  For more details on the program visit the Student Support Services web site at http://www2.astate.edu/a/university-college/sss/.

SSS is entirely funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
