Governor Now Speaking of Possible Second Special Session

Little Rock, AR - The special session set to deal with the state's education problem hasn't started yet, but Governor Huckabee says there may be need for another, second, session next year.

Huckabee said the Legislature adjourned without creating a liability insurance pool for nursing homes and without setting limits on civil damages in lawsuits against the facilities.

Huckabee says he could call a special session in February or March, in addition to the one set to start December 8.  The next regular session isn't until 2005.

However, Democratic senators say they're not sure a second special session is necessary for the nursing home issues and that it needs more research.
