JONESBORO, Ark. (ASU) – Arkansas State head baseball coach Tommy Raffo has announced the dates for the 2011 ASU Fall Baseball Camps.
ASU baseball camps offer specialized training on hitting, defensive play and other techniques of baseball with instruction being provided by current ASU players and coaches.
"We are excited about having our fall camps again this year. The Fall League has been a great way for our local high school baseball student-athletes to stay active in the game and continue to improve their skill level for the spring season," said Raffo. "The Fall Prospect camp has been a great evaluation tool for our coaches while providing a learning environment for the players. We are looking forward to another fun fall camp season."
The fall camps get going with the Fall Team League which will be held on four dates through the end of September and early October. The Fall Team League is designed for players grades 9-12 and will include each player being designated to a team and experience drill instruction and game participation. The Fall Team League will be held on four Sundays (Sept. 18 & 25 and Oct. 2 & 9) from 1-5 p.m. at Tomlinson Stadium and Kell Field. Cost for the Fall Team League is $160
The Fall Prospect Camp is also designed for high school players (grades 9-12) who are interested in continuing their careers past high school. Players will have an opportunity to be evaluated in a professional scouting format by the ASU coaching staff, and learn about the collegiate recruiting process. Cost for the Fall Prospect Camp is $100. Lunch will be provided for campers at the Fall Prospect Camp.
Both camps include a t-shirt and campers should bring their own hat, glove helmet, bat and suitable baseball attire including baseball pants. Catchers should bring their own catching gear.
