From Harding University

The Harding women's cross country team is ranked 20th in the Women's Cross Country National Team Rankings, released Wednesday by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Lady Bisons have finished in the top 20 nationally in seven of the last eight seasons but did not qualify for the national meet in 2010.

Harding is the only school in the newly-formed Great American Conference ranked in the top 25.

Western State, located in Gunnison, Colorado, and a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, is the preseason favorite. Grand Valley State was second with Chico State third.

The Lady Bisons, under head coach Steve Guymon, begin their season on Sept. 3 at the Memphis Twilight Classic in Memphis, Tennessee.
