MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) - The Baxter County Sheriff's Office responded to a call Friday morning that landed one Region 8 woman behind bars on multiple felony charges.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, officers were called to Twin Lakes Farm and Lawn on Highway 62, East of Mountain Home in response to a stolen vehicle.
When Deputies arrived, the victim told police that around 7:45 a.m. he saw a black GMC pull up around the side of the business. When the victim walked around the side of the building, he noticed his 2008 Ford Pickup was missing and the black 2003 GMC that had pulled up minutes before was left in it's place.
As investigators were processing the black GMC, the owner of that truck arrived at the scene. The GMC truck owner told police he had left his vehicle at the Ultimate GMC Dealership for service.
Deputies then went to the dealership and found a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup. According to investigators, the S-10 was parked near where the GMC truck had been parked prior to being stolen. The owner of the S-10 was then contacted. He confirmed that his vehicle had been taken from Haven's Heating and Air Company.
With the other two vehicles in the rightful owner's possession, police broadcast a Be on the Lookout for the 2008 Ford. Around 9:30 a.m., Lt. Rick Lucy saw the stolen vehicle at the Cotter Springs Park in Cotter, Arkansas.
Lt. Lucy and State Police Officer Clinton Evans found the suspect trying to break into yet another vehicle that was parked at the park. A witness at the park told authorities that the suspect had driven the Ford to the park and had offered sex in return for a ride somewhere else.
Authorities then took 30-year-old Jessica Osborne into custody without incident.
She was charged with:
Theft of Property Class B felony
Theft of Property Class C felony
Theft of Property Class D felony
Criminal Attempt Class D felony
Osborne was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond. She's scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on September 1 at 9 a.m.
All three vehicles, a 9mm handgun and fishing rods were recovered with no damage.
