WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT)- A funding ceremony took place in Lawrence County to usher in the new medical clinic that will be constructed.
Tuesday, representatives from the USDA Rural Development presented a plaque to Corning Area Healthcare, Inc. in regard to a new clinic being built.
The clinic to be built on Colonial Drive in Walnut Ridge, will help low income families that are either underinsured or not insured. According to a USDA specialist, the new location will increase their exam rooms from 6 to 13. Also two more medical providers and 12 more support staff could be added.
Corning Area Healthcare, Inc. received a USDA Rural Development Community Facility loan funded in the amount of $1,350,000, and has contributed over $100,000 to the project.
