Senior Mary Samoei led the 20th-ranked Harding women's cross country team to a ninth place finish among 25 teams at the 2011 Brooks Memphis Twilight Meet on Saturday at the Mike Rose Complex.
Harding had the best finish among the eight Division II teams entered in the meet.
Samoei was Harding's top finisher, placing 26th in the 5K race in 19:25. Other Lady Bison scorers included freshman Rachel Roberts (56th, 20:15), freshman Dallis Bailey (59th, 20:17), freshman Amber Priest (66th, 20:27) and junior Allison Dixon (101st, 21:23).
The Lady Bisons finished with 281 points. Ole Miss won the women's race and was led by race-winner Logan Waites, who finished in 17:44. Harding also finished ninth at the meet last season.
Harding is off next weekend before running in the Missouri Southern Stampede on Sept. 17.
