Jonesboro Air Evac Lifeteam Moving to New Home

November 25, 2003 - Posted at 11:19 a.m. CDT

JONESBORO, AR - The Jonesboro Air Evac Lifeteam will be moving into a new home at the beginning of the year.

The base, which includes crew quarters, hangar and fueling facility, will be located about five miles east of Jonesboro on Highway 18, according to Director of Operations Stu Buckingham.  The Jonesboro Air Evac base has been operating in northeast Arkansas since February 1998 out of the Jonesboro Municipal Airport.

"The base will continue to serve residents and hospitals within a 70-mile radius," said Buckingham.  "We've had a great working relationship with the emergency officials in that region and look forward to continuing those relationships in the future."

Air Evac Lifeteam is a membership-supported air ambulance service that provides emergency medical transport to rural communities.  Bases are located in ten states throughout the South and Midwest.  Crews include a pilot, registered nurse and paramedic.  They are on standby 24 hours a day.  Each helicopter is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment.
