RUSSELLVILLE, AR (Harding) – Volleyball sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold received her first career Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor on Tuesday in a release by the conference office.
Arnold, a Bono, Arkansas native, led the Lady Bisons to a 5-1 record last week. She had 90 kills (4.09 a set) and 79 digs (3.59 a set). Her best performance of the week came in a 3-2 win over Alabama-Huntsville, in which she totaled 18 kills on 43 attacks for a .279 percentage. In addition to her weekly kills total, Arnold also totaled 10 assists, eight total blocks and seven service aces.
She isn't the only player with Region 8 ties on the Harding roster. Valley View alum Weslynn Williams is a sophomore defensive specialist.
The Lady Bisons travel to Henderson State on Tuesday to open GAC play at 7 p.m., in Arkadelphia, Ark.
