FCPD: Man arrested for allegedly scrapping vehicles he was paid to repair

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) – Forrest City Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a vehicle scam.

According to the Forrest City Police Department, 32-year-old Elix Lee James, of Madison, was arrested for a scam where he took victim's vehicles to repair them but ends up taking them to a scrap yard and selling them.

James was arrested for taking two vehicles to the scrap yard while being paid in advance for repair work. He was charged with felony theft auto and taken to the St. Francis County Jail where he is scheduled for arraignment.

Police say James was out of jail on bond at the time of this incident on a similar scam.
