Williams Baptist to host softball skills clinic October 15th

From Williams Baptist College

The Williams Baptist College softball team will hold a one-day skills clinic on Saturday, Oct. 15. The clinic, which is open to girls ages 7 to 17, will be divided into morning and afternoon sessions to cover different softball skills, as well as fundamentals of the game.

The morning session will run from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. It will focus on throwing, fielding, pitching and defense.

The afternoon session will run from 1:15 to 3:30 p.m. and will deal with base running, slapping, bunting and hitting.

The clinic will be led by coaches and players of the Lady Eagles softball ball, which finished last season 31-12 and nationally ranked at number 20 in the NAIA. Many of the players were all-state selections in high school, and they excel at a range of softball skills.

The cost will be $25 per session or $35 for both sessions. Age levels will be divided at the clinic and split according to size and skill level.

The clinic will be held at the WBC Softball Field, and participants should bring a glove, bat, cleats and helmet.
