Huckabee To Head Southern Education Board

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Huckabee is the new chairman of the Southern Regional Education Board , an interstate compact aimed at improving education in the region.  Huckabee succeeds Governor Ronnie Musgrove of Mississippi, who leaves office next month.  The board includes governors, legislators, educators, and business leaders from 16 states.

The board was created in 1948 to help leaders in education and government work cooperatively to advance education in the region.

The governor will serve as chairman of the board through its July meeting.
