Forrest City teen charged as an adult in rape case

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT)-  A 17-year old in St. Francis County has been arrested and charged as an adult in connection with a reported rape.

According to Forrest City Police, the victim told police that on August 28th she was awakened by Devonte Dukes who was on top of her in her bed.  Police say the victim was able to get away from Dukes after he hit her and attempted to straggle her.

In a separate case, Forrest City Police state that Dukes was previously arrested for residential burglary on September 17th.  In that case, police state Dukes supposedly entered a home on 123 West Franklin and pulled the covers back on another female victim.

Dukes has been charged with rape and residential burglary in connection with the August 28th case.  Bond was set at $250,000.
