Caruthersville Police find several suspects in an assault case

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT)-  Caruthersville Police have located several suspects involved in the assault of two women.

According to a media release, police were called to the 1400 block of Vest Avenue on October 10th in reference to shots being fired.  Police say they found a 25-year old woman at the intersection of 14th Street and Vest Avenue bleeding from cuts to her face and head.  Police also found another teenage victim who had been struck in the head with a weapon.

An unknown number of suspects involved in the assault were taken to the Caruthersville Police Department.  Police state that they were later released pending the filling of formal charges of 2nd Degree Assault and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Both victims were treated for their injuries and later released.
