PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KAIT) – The Pemiscot County Sheriff and Fire Departments are investigating a fire at the former Homestown City Hall Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department, the Wardell Fire Department arrived on scene around 5pm to heavy smoke and fire at the back of the building.
It's unclear how the fire started, but a portable building used as the current city hall and council chambers was also damaged in the fire.
The Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office has also been called into investigate.
