Arkansas bullhead record continues to climb

Arkansas bullhead mark continues to climb LITTLE ROCK (AGFC) – Some records weren't meant to last. Wil Hafner of Cabot set the Arkansas record for largest yellow bullhead early this year with a 1-pound specimen caught from Taylor Park Reservoir near Lonoke.

Chase Evans, also of Cabot, broke Hafner's record this summer with a 2-pound, 1-ounce fish taken from Magness Creek Lake in Cabot. His record measured 15¼ inches long with a girth of 9¼ inches. He caught it using chicken liver.

The record is steadily climbing. Larry Don Frost's 13-ounce fish caught July 28, 2010, in DeGray Lake set the mark before Hafner broke it.
