LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Southwestern Athletic Conference is investigating a post-game altercation between members of the Southern University and University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff football teams.
Shortly after the Golden Lions blocked an extra-point attempt to squeak by with a 22-21 victory over the Jaguars on Saturday, players from both teams began fighting with each other on the field.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff Athletic Director Lonza Hardy's office said Tuesday officials were still reviewing the video footage and no decisions had been made. A spokeswoman for Southern University didn't return a call seeking comment.
Conference officials said in a statement issued Monday that chancellors for both schools had issued apologizes about the incident and pledged their cooperation with the inquiry. Officials said there is no definite timeline for taking any action.
