SEARCY, AR --Water and sewer treatment facilities in White County will have to be overhauled because of concerns over terrorist attacks.
Dan Dawson of the Searcy Board of Public Utilities says the cost of the overhaul is being withheld for security reasons.
The board recently reviewed a confidential report evaluating the system's vulnerability to sabotage and terrorist attacks.
The report was mandated after Congress adopted the Bioterrorism Act of 2002 that requires an assessment of all public water and sewer treatment systems in the country.
The county plans to begin work on the system next year.
