LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson has confirmed the body of a young female has been found in the Black River near the Lawrence/Randolph County line. We have a crew on
NEW DETAILS: The Walnut Ridge Police Department held a press conference Monday afternoon confirming that it was Randall's body that was found Saturday. The cause of death is still being investigated.
JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Following the attack of a child this past
weekend, Jonesboro Police say the case is not linked to the recent sexual
assaults throughout the area.
Despite other media reports, investigators say it would be a
"a stretch" to connect the assault of a 12-year-old child with a
recent series of rapes.
"The geography is similar. The time of day is similar, but with
the matter of the assault, there was no sexual assault that took place in that
case. It leads us to believe that if there is an association between that case
and the others, it's a very weak link," said Jonesboro Police Chief Mike
Yates.
