SeMo Couple Facing Charges After Leaving Campbell Woman for Dead

December 24, 2003 - Posted at 8:12 a.m. CDT

BUFFALO, MO - A southeast Missouri couple faces charges in the attack on a woman, who authorities say was driven some 250 miles and left for dead in Dallas County.

Gregory Allen and his wife, Toni Allen, both of Campbell, are each charged in Dallas County with first-degree assault, a felony.

Their bond is set at $250,000 each.  They are jailed in Dunklin County on first-degree burglary, kidnapping and first-degree robbery.

All of the charges stem from the abduction and attack of their neighbor, 67-year-old Carmen Tibbs of Campbell.

Authorities say Tibbs was forced into her car Sunday night and driven to Dallas County.  She was beaten and had her throat cut.

She was found Monday at a home near Buffalo.
