"Life is my main motivation to be healthy. I am so lucky and blessed to have my family and friends. The longer I go in my current state, the shorter my life will be. At my current weight, all exercise and dieting seems daunting and unattainable."
"I am ready to conquer my emotional attachment to food. If only one person could relate to my situation and be motivated, that is enough!"
Linde is on a journey to fix herself and gain a sense of who she is again. To celebrate this jumpstart, Linde wants to go shopping and have a family portrait made.
Update November, 2011
Since I got my check in tag on Sunday, November 6 I have been going daily and doing treadmill work- usually 45 mins to 1 hour each session. Longer sessions on weekends. (I have taken each Wednesday off for a break) I have mixed in a few days of bike work as well. I received a call from Spencer yesterday, November 18, that I will meet with my trainer Monica on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The first meeting is more for like a "meetngreet session" per Spencer and then we should get into more training the week after Thanksgiving. I really look forward to meeting her and working with her.
The main results I have seen is how much easier it feels to work out. I am more motivated each week. Each day it seems like I am getting better emotionally. No more pain and I enjoy myself more now. My clothes are also feeling looser and I am sleeping much better as well.
My diet is going as well as I expected at this early stage. I still have had a few moments of weakness but they not have affected my weight negatively. I have dropped eating red meats, and I am trying to eat only raw fruits and vegetables. I also have started drinking water. My diet soda intake has decreased drastically and I am watching my salt consumption.
My biggest challenge is the anxiety I have waiting to see bigger results. I know it is going to take time but I am being honest. Also, I try to remember if I keep being consistent I will eventually see the numbers dropping.
Can't wait until I can wear my wedding ring set again. It has been over 4 years since I last could wear them without pain.
Update January, 2012
I am sure you may have seen Monica's post on the facebook page but I will be glad to share too. On Saturday, Jan 7, I had my first weigh in and measurements taken since beginning the program. I have lost 23 pounds. I am down 4.5 inches in my waist and 3 inches in my hips. I am so pleased with my results. I have much further to go but Monica is giving me the tools to reach new goals.
I feel like a new person. My clothes aren't uncomfortable to wear any longer. I have gone down to sizes I have not worn since 2003. I sleep full nights. No more insomnia. I do not worry as much as I used to. My blood pressure is back down to a good, normal range. Every week I accomplish something new that gives me that motivation I need to keep on going.
I currently see Monica 3 times a week. This week, she is adding a day of weights that I will do on my own. That will be 4 days of weights and 6 to 7 days of cardio. On the days I am with Monica, I do an additional 40 minutes of cardio. On the days I am not, I do 70 minutes of cardio. Sunday is either a day off or I can do 30 minutes of cardio.
Monica is the best trainer and I am so thankful they matched me with her. She is a positive person, a motivator, and I know she wants to help me as much as I want to help myself. She also makes me realize I can do things I never thought I could do. Since starting, I have been able to do many things I could not do beforehand: jump rope, planks, sit ups, push ups, and even run. Monica also helps me with nutrition and she is always willing to help if I ever have any questions. Love her so much!!!
I have enjoyed both group sessions there have been. I was able to learn new information and was reminded of things I hadn't heard in a long while. I also enjoy seeing all the other participants to catch up. Some weeks at the gym, I may see a few and other weeks, no one, so it is nice. Any group sessions on letting go of the negativity that comes with a lifelong struggle with weight would be beneficial for me. Learning to love myself as I am. Learning to not become obsessed with weight loss but embracing a new lifestyle. It is a fine line, some days I am good, others not so much. :)
Aside from the weight loss and losing sizes, one of the most important successes I have had is that my wedding ring set fits again. I have not been able to wear it for about five years. This means the world to me.
If anyone is overweight and worrying about coming into a gym, worrying that employees, trainers or others will judge- St. Bernard's Health & Wellness Institute is the perfect place for people of all sizes. I have always been welcomed by everyone who works there. Always greeted with a smile and I leave feeling like I am worth it. I have never felt out of place and if anyone can, they should take the plunge and join. We all start somewhere. It is worth it and they will not be disappointed.
I am so thankful for all the wonderful people I have met through this opportunity.
Hope you have a fabulous day!!
