Montgomery said Thomas Andrew Blackmon, 41, Gassville, was charged with theft of stolen property and felony fleeing. Both Blackmon and Lee are scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court October 27th.

According to the news release, the mayor of Briarcliff discovered a service truck with chainsaws, power washers and other items were stolen from the city's compound. The discovery was made Friday morning.

Later that morning, the released indicated, the mayor spotted the stolen vehicle and contacted the city's marshall. Police state the vehicle fled before crashing into a tree in a steep enbankment near the end of Rocky Ridge Road, southeast of Mountain Home.

Police said two men got out of the vehicle and went into the woods.

Arkansas State Police troopers and a helicopter with the sheriff's office were called to assist in the investigation. Lee was found in the woods.

Police said during the investigation, they obtained information that the second suspect was spotted at a residence on Peach Tree Lane. Investigators found several items from the Briarcliff theft, the release indicated.

During the investigation at Peach Tree Lane, a gray Pontiac Grand Am pulled into the driveway before turning around and speeding off. Investigators say police followed the vehicle before the Mountain Home Police Department reported a stolen Pontiac Grand Am had been taken from Care Manor Nursing Home. Officers lost track of the vehicle near Christianson Road.

The helicopter in the air from the first incident spotted an abandoned vehicle on Hazelnut Court. Police state that suspect also fled into the woods.
