Second man pleads guilty in October beating death

JONESBORO,AR (KAIT) - Two Craighead County men have pleaded guilty in the beating deathof another man.

Accordingto the Craighead County Prosecutor's Office, Doreus McKinney pleaded guilty toBattery in the third degree Friday in the beating death of 47-year-oldWilliam Horton. McKinney's charges were dropped from murder in the seconddegree to battery in the third degree, and was sentenced to 150 days in jail.

Twoweeks earlier, Tyrone Hall pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree andwas sentenced to five years in prison.

JonesboroPolice say Horton was found unconscious at the corner of Woodrow and ChurchStreet on Sunday October 16, 2011, after a witness called officers to report afight.

Investigatorssay the witness reported seeing the men fighting with Horton before Horton fellto the ground. Horton was transported to a local hospital where he died a fewdays later.

Witnessestold police Horton was beaten by as many as three or four men and that there mayhave been three women from Blytheville present at the time.

Noone else has been charged in Horton's death.
