Residents browse books at library semi-annual sale

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Book lovers shopped for bargains at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library on Saturday. Residents combed through stacks of books looking for the best deals at the semi-annual sale.

The Friends of the Library (FOL) volunteer group hopes to collect $2,000 this weekend. Stephen Goad, an FOL volunteer, says the sale not only clears out shelves for new donations, but also brings in money to support the organization's efforts.

"The book sale funds a lot of the children's programs here at the library," Goad said. "We help buy books, landscaping. We also do literacy programs throughout the community."

The sale continues Sunday in case anyone missed the first day of bargains. Residents are encouraged to stop by the library between 1 and 5 p.m. on Sunday to browse and buy.
