Over $8,000 in marijuana seized during traffic stop

SEARCY, AR (KAIT) - Two men are behind bars following a traffic stop in Searcy. According to the Beebe Police Department, the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force assisted the department in a traffic stop that turned up $8,200 in marijuana.

According to BPD, approximately 8.2 pounds of suspected marijuana and $11,434 in U.S. currency was seized.

26 year old Robert Sullins of Lonoke, AR and 21 year old McKinley Rickett of Searcy were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose to deliver.

Sullins was incarcerated in the White County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond. Rickett was incarcerated on a $5,000 bond.

On October 31, officers learned of a possible hidden compartment in Sullins and Rickett's vehicle. CADTF Investigators obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and turned up an additional $18,479 for a total of $29,913 seized.
