Shooting suspect arrested by police in Missouri

STEELE, MO (KAIT)- Police in Pemiscot County have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that happened in early October.

According to the Steele Police Department, officers were called to a shooting at 308 North First Street on October 7th.  Police say they found 19-year-old Aaron Jackson suffering from a gun shot that went through his leg.  Jackson was taken to a hospital in Blytheville for treatment.  Investigators determined that an altercation happened during a party near the residence.  Witnesses told police the fight led to six shots being fired by the suspect who fled the scene.

Police later arrested Marcus Charleston of Steele on October 24th.  Charleston was taken into custody on a warrant for first degree assault and armed criminal action.  Bond was set at $100,000.
