STEELE, MO (KAIT)- An investigation into a robbery in Pemiscot County results in two men being arrested.
According to the Steele Police Department, officers were called to the North First Street Apartments in reference to a possible crime scene. While investigating the incident, Steele Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield was contacted by 78-year-old Seabe Wright who had apparently been assaulted. Police say the man had a black eye, bloody nose and a laceration behind his left ear.
Investigators found that Wright had been assaulted and robbed by two suspects after they drove up behind him. Police were able to identify the suspect's vehicle after reviewing surveillance video.
On October 30th, felony warrants were issued for Marvin and Sherman Houston both from Steele. Police say the men admitted to being involved in the robbery. Both were charged with first degree robbery. Bond was set at $100,000 for the men.
