Arkansas State women's bowling coach Justin Kostick announced Thursday that Stephanie Mims (Richmond, Va.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her career at ASU.
Mims is currently a senior a James River High School and earned several awards during her high school bowling career. In 2009 she won first place at the Junior Gold Qualifier in Richmond, Va., and placed second in the Virginia state bowling tournament. In 2010 she helped lead her team to a first place finish at the Clyde Robert Perkins Memorial High School Tournament and she placed first individually at the Richmond City tournament. She also earned a second place finish at the Junior Gold Qualifier.
In 2011 she made the all-tournament team at the Clyde Robert Perkins Memorial High School Tournament and had a high game of 271. She added a second place finish at the Richmond City Tournament and another first place finished at the Junior Gold Qualifier.
"Signing a player of Stephanie's ability is a win for our program," Kostick said. "She is a versatile player and we are looking forward to having her at Arkansas State for the next four years."
From 2009-11 Mims was invited to compete at the Virginia Commonwealth Games and the Pepsi Qualifier where she finished second in 2010. She also added a first place finish at the Tough Shots Tournament in 2010 and has a high game of 288.
