Trio of Bandits Apprehended in Armed Robbery at McHue

BATESVILLE, AR - Three Batesville area men are in police custody at this hour after being arrested this afternoon for their alleged role in the armed robbery of a small country store south of Batesville.

With one man brandishing a handgun, the trio took an undetermined amount of cash from The Little Red Store at McHue shortly after noon.  After obtaining information from witnesses, Independence County Sheriff's deputies apprehended the three a short time later within two miles of the crime scene.

Sheriff's Captain Bill Linsey told K8 News that authorities beleive the men may have also been planning another robbery in the Locust Grove community.  Linsey is asking the public for help in the investigation, saying that if anyone saw a tan 1990 Chrysler Imperial (4-door) in the Locust Grove area earlier in the day to please call the Sheriff's Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 870-793-8878.

The names of the three suspects have not yet been released by authorities.
