VA medical center director recognized in "Who's Who"

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - Glenn Costie, chief executive officer of the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center has been recognized by Cambridge's "Who's Who" for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care administration.

As CEO of the center, Costie oversees health care services for veterans in 29 counties, bringing care to 20,000 veterans. Before coming to Southeast Missouri, Costie led a $70 million capital improvement program for the Department of Veterans Affairs that consolidated two medical campuses and created a system of 15 outpatient clinics serving northeast Ohio.

Costie received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in 1984. He is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and was recently certified as a mentor and coach by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

He serves on several boards including the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity and is the president of the Advisory Board for Three Rivers College.
