JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-If Region 8 residents are looking for a way to get into the holiday spirit, head to Paragould.
Arkansas Methodist Medical Center's Foundation is hosting the first ever "Holiday Tour of Homes".
Vice President for AMMC, Shane Carter, says this idea was inspired by the Foundation Special Events Committee and the Women's Counsel.
"They were looking for a way to not only get the public involved in something they'll enjoy, but also raise funds for something that is very much needed, " Carter said. "The money is going to be used to support and create an Alzheimer's Resource Room for Chateau on the Ridge, our new retirement community. The funds that will be generated through our Holiday Tour of Homes will be used to purchase educational materials for patients and also family members of those effected by Alzheimer's disease."
The public is invited to come out and tour four beautifully decorated homes in the Callaway Hills subdivision.
Carter says this event was made possible through all the help received from the community and foundation members.
"We have foundation supporters who believe in our mission and have been working for weeks to decorate their homes."
Carter says the public can also get an up close and personal look at some of the newest architecture.
"Not only will people get to come in and see these beautiful homes decorated for the holidays, they'll also be able to get a sense of the some of the latest building trends if they're looking to remodel their home or perhaps build a home of their own."
Carter says this Alzheimer's resource room is just the latest in projects the foundation is working on.
"Every dime we make at the hospital through our foundation, we work to reinvest back into our community and this is just part of our mission that we work on throughout the year."
The Holiday Tour of Homes will take place Sunday, December 4th from two to four PM in the Callaway Hills subdivision in Paragould off of highway 358.
People can pay a one time fee of fifteen dollars in advance or twenty dollars at the door.
