JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Three inmates that escaped from the Craighead County Jail on Wednesday night apparently climbed over 16 feet to get to freedom.
According to Craighead County Sheriff Jack McCann, the three men could be seen on surveillance video putting their backs against a wall in the shower and using their feet to crawl up the wall and into a small crawl space used for plumbing work.
McCann said the inmates were able to make their way from the crawl space to an exit on the side of the building, then scaled the chain-linked fence by throwing a blanket over the barbed wire.
