Justin Ingram resigns as ASU volleyball coach

JONESBORO (ASU) – Arkansas State Director of Athletics Dr. Dean Lee announced Wednesday that Justin Ingram has resigned as head volleyball coach, effective at the end of his current contract.  Ingram recently completed his third season as the Red Wolves' head coach in 2011.

A-State posted a 60-33 overall record and 35-15 mark in Sun Belt Conference play the last three seasons under Ingram. Ingram led ASU to two 20-win seasons, recording 21 victories in 2011 and 22 in 2009.

The Red Wolves won back-to-back Sun Belt Conference West Division co-championships in 2009 and 2010 before claiming the title outright in 2011, but dropped their first match in the conference tournament each of the last three years.  Ingram was selected by his peers as the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year in 2011.

"We appreciate everything that Coach Ingram has done for the ASU volleyball program during his tenure," said Lee.  "We wish Coach Ingram the best in his future endeavors."

ASU has also announced that assistant volleyball coach Shawn Taylor has resigned his position effective at the end of his current contract.  The 2011 season marked the second year Taylor was a part of the coaching staff.

Lee said that a national search for a new head volleyball coach will begin immediately.
