Unveiling of new parkway means easier access to ASU

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A ribbon cutting ceremony to be held Tuesday will mark the grand opening of the Marion Berry Parkway.

The parkway will serve as an overpass onto the ASU campus. The roadway will connect East Washington, University Loop to East Johnson.

Completion of this parkway means students will have an easier time getting onto campus as they won't be caught by trains on the two railroad tracks in front of campus anymore.

A reception will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Delta Center for Economic Development. The ribbon cutting ceremony will follow at the corner of University Loop West and Aggie Road at 11:15 a.m.

The parkway cost $18 million to complete and construction finished ahead of time. The estimated completion date was set for Spring 2012.
