JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Craighead County Sheriff Jack McCann was named "Person of the Year" Tuesday night.
Sheriff McCann was given the award by the CrimeStoppers Board of Directors. At a reception at the First Commercial Bank in Jonesboro, officials like Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, business leaders, local officials and officers came out to support McCann.
The sheriff spoke of dedication that officers, across the county and the country, have to the law enforcement profession. Sheriff McCann will retire when his term ends next year. He has been in law enforcement for 40 years.
Next year the award will be called the "Sheriff Jack McCann Person of the Year" award.
